The Nigerian Golden Eaglets inside the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, this afternoon in far away Tanzania qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, thus becoming the first Africa country to book a place in the competition that will be staged in Brazil later this year.

Olakunle John Olusegun’s 21st minute penalty was all the Nigeria team needed to qualify for the competition semi final and also secured U-17 World Cup ticket.

Angola U-17 lads who defeated Uganda in their first game were defending for most part of the game as they lost their captain to red card after collecting his second yellow card of the game in the 51st minute of play.

In their opening game of the competition on Sunday, Nigeria players defeated the host Nation by 5 goals to 4.

With this victory, the next target for the Nigeria team is to win the trophy for the forth time, after winning in 1989, 2001 and 2007.
