According to a Press Release issued by Olawale Adekoya, the University’s Information, Media and Publication Specialist, out of the total 1209 graduating students, 60 undergraduate students bagged first class, while nine pioneer Doctorate students were produced for the first time. Others are: 428 2nd class (upper division); 494 2nd class (lower division)

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Nosa Owens- Ibie, emphasised that “Caleb University has gone into partnerships with leading universities within and outside Africa and, including specific requests for collaboration with our Mass Communication department.”

“The feedback has been heart-warming, and our
alumni are spreading around the globe marketing the Caleb brand in a way that reflects the depth, height and dimensions of the investment in them by our team of dedicated lecturers in the idyllic and aesthetically delightsome environment which makes our campus a tourist destination which just keeps evolving with remarkable infrastructure, innovations and academic programme development which align with national and global templates.

“Today, all undergraduate programmes of the university are fully accredited by the
National Universities
“Our alumni are distinguishing themselves globally. One of our former students, Felix Inala, who set up a group on campus “Studio Vision”, recently launched a fashion brand in the United Kingdom”. He assured stakeholders that identification with the Caleb brand is well appreciated”.

“He counselled graduands to be assured based on the Book of Proverbs 23:18, that their expectation won’t be cut off once they are anchored in Christ. He advised that they should let God be their anchor, and that the sky won’t be their limit”. He encouraged the graduands that the talents God deposited in them will bear fruits”.

Prof. Sunday Ajayi, the Pro Chancellor of Caleb University, who spoke on behalf of the Governing Council, paid glowing tributes to the Visitor, Dr Oladega Adebogun, whom he referred to as “a great educationist, that has been providing a conducive environment for young people of all professionals”.
“Whenever the history of Caleb University is written for whatever purpose, this year will be listed as a landmark in evolution: the University is graduating her 1st set of PhD. candidates”.

The Convocation Lecturer, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos State Information and Strategy Commissioner, spoke on “Closing the Generational Gap between the Old and the Young in Nigerian Politics”.

Mr Omotoso, a veteran journalist, Editor, columnist, with over 35 years in the media, informed the audience that
“youth”, as a potent, magnetic and electrifying word, has a special attraction to people of all ages – the elderly, children and youths themselves, as people naturally prefer to be young or remain young, fresh and energetic”.

While insisting that youth involvement in governance is not merely a goal but imperative for the nation’s progress, Mr Omotoso emphasised the need for Nigerian youth to be actively involved in politics; see elections as a matter of right as well as part of the solution rather than a problem to be solved by others.

“To Further harness the peculiar talent of the youths in Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu has prioritised youth empowerment in the budgets, just like the establishment of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy signifies a significant milestone, Mirroring the efforts of the Sanwo – Olu administration to play a crucial role in advocating youth inclusion in politics and leadership through dedicated research initiatives and capacity- building Programmes.
Mr Onotoso admonished the graduating students to be contended, creative, and godly.

His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II; while delivering his goodwill message urged citizens to persevere and be optimistic, as the Federal Republic of Nigeria is destined for greatness. The Royal Father expressed confidence in the ability of President Bola Ahmed Timubu to fix the Nation, with our support.

The Arole Oduduwa however appealed to the Federal Government to fix the strategic Ikorodu-Itokin road- that connects Caleb University to Lagos and Ogun states, “I wish our Leaders witness what ordinary Nigerians are facing on a daily basis and for once come out of their comfort zones to see people suffering”.

Her Eminence, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi of the Love of Christ International Church, who made a grand entry into the Convocation along with the Ooni of Ife, sensitised parents to instil and imbibe the culture of integrity and values in their children, stressing that Nigeria will will overcome the socio- cultural and security challenges if we all turn out a better character and value.
“A University Certificate without the normal ‘Omoluabi’ ethos will continue to plunge the country into a deeper crisis.”

On his part, the youthful Convocation Guest of Honour, Mr Adaralegbe Akintayo of the Tpumpy Estate Development, connected with and inspired the students by going down the memory lane to narrate his success story on how he survived schooling. He charged the graduands to key into the entrepreneurship opportunities provided by Caleb University so they may excel in their endeavours.
