Defending champions of the LSFA Federation Cup, Ikorodu City FC, have secured their spot in the quarterfinals of the Lagos State FA Cup, alongside five other NNL teams from the state.
Unlike previous seasons, where we witnessed major upsets before this stage, this year’s competition has been different—no shock exits so far!
The closest upset? 36 Lions FC took an early lead in the 31st minute against Inter Lagos FC, only to concede a heartbreaking equalizer in the 96th minute before eventually losing the match.
Meanwhile, Power of the Cross FC and FC Bethel put up a strong fight against Ikorodu City FC, holding them to a stalemate until conceding defeat in added time during the Round of 32 and Round of 16, respectively.
But as we enter the quarterfinals today, the big question remains: Will we finally witness a major upset?
