The Ondo State Football Association (FA) Election Appeal Committee has officially cleared . Henry Abiodun to contest in today’s highly anticipated FA chairmanship election. This decision comes after his initial disqualification by the State Electoral Committee over his inability to provide his secondary school certificate.

Abiodun’s fortunes changed when he successfully presented the required document to the Appeal Committee, paving the way for his reinstatement in the race. With his clearance, the contest for the top football administrative position in the state has become even more intense, as four candidates will now battle for the coveted seat.

Meet the Candidates

The election will see a competitive lineup, featuring:

  • Henry Abiodun (Ondo West – Central Senatorial District)
  • Otunba Dele-Ajayi (Akure North – Central Senatorial District, and incumbent chairman)
  • Adetula Aderemi (Owo – North Senatorial District)
  • Ologbese Gbemi Cornelius (Akoko Southwest – North Senatorial District)

With stakeholders and football enthusiasts across the state keenly watching, the big question remains: Will there be continuity with the incumbent, Otunba Dele-Ajayi, or will fresh leadership emerge to steer Ondo football in a new direction?

As the election unfolds, expectations are high, and the football community is eager to see who will take the reins and drive the development of the beautiful game in the Sunshine State.
