Late Goals, Tactical Battles Define NWFL Matchday 11 as Standings Take New Shape

Rivers Angels climb to the summit of Group A while Ahudiyannem Queens secure a crucial victory to move out of the relegation zone

Matchday 11 of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership delivered a different rhythm compared with the drama of the previous round, yet the day still produced several significant developments that could influence the race for the Super Six and the fight for survival.

While the goals were fewer across the fixtures, the results carried major implications for the standings. One of the biggest movements came in Group A, where Bayelsa Queens slipped from the summit to third position after sitting out the round due to a bye. Rivers Angels took advantage to climb to the top of the table.

Elsewhere, Ahudiyannem Queens recorded a convincing victory that lifted them out of the relegation zone for the first time this season, underlining their growing resurgence in the second round.

In total, only fourteen goals were scored across the league centres, a clear reflection of the tactical discipline and cautious approach adopted by teams as the race for the Super Six intensified.
