Enyimba FC striker Junior Lokosa has emerged victorious in his case against Libyan club Al Naser Zliten at the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC). Represented by PCN Sportiva LP, Lokosa successfully secured a ruling that upholds players’ rights to fair compensation for work already performed or future work under an employment contract.
The DRC’s decision reiterates that players cannot waive entitlements for completed or future work, with the legal team arguing that such a waiver would be invalid under Article 20(1) of the Swiss Code of Obligations (SCO). The ruling emphasises that any attempt to forfeit earned wages is both immoral and unenforceable, setting a vital precedent for fair treatment and compensation within football contracts.
