Nigerian Referees Ready for Botswana vs Somalia FIFA World Cup Qualifier

A momentous day for Nigerian football as the country’s top referees have landed in Francistown, Botswana, ahead of the crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier match between Botswana and Somalia. This high-stakes clash, part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, will take place on Tuesday, 25th March 2025, at 8 pm in the iconic Obed Itani Chilume Stadium.

The Nigerian quartet includes Dr. Ogabor Joseph Odey, who will officiate as the referee, joined by his trusted assistants Usman Abdulmajeed Olaide and Muhammad Muhamud Yakubu. Basheer Salisu rounds out the team as the fourth official. Adding their expertise to the event will be Referee Assessor Engono Nguema Eusobio from Equatorial Guinea and Match Commissioner Mpiti Tebalo from Lesotho.

This important fixture will see Botswana, currently 4th in their group with 6 points, face off against Somalia, who are sitting at 6th with only 1 point. As the match draws closer, the stage is set for a thrilling encounter, and Nigerian referees are honoured to play a key role in such an exciting and vital match for both teams.
