The midweek of the NWFL Premiership served up an array of fierce encounters and dramatic outcomes, each telling its own unique story of triumph, resilience, and determination.

In Anyigba, Confluence Queens and Dannaz Ladies played out a goalless draw, neither side able to break the deadlock. A hard-fought battle on the pitch ended with both teams settling for a single point, leaving their supporters hoping for better results in the next match. It was one of those games where the passion was palpable, but the goals remained elusive.

Down in Ibadan, the Ekiti Queens hosted Remo Stars Ladies in a match that didn’t go as planned. Despite switching their home game from Ilorin to Adamasingba Stadium, Ekiti Queens couldn’t turn their fortune around. Olasubomi Ogundele struck in the 35th minute to secure a vital away win for Remo Stars Ladies. Ekiti Queens, having now lost two consecutive home matches, are left reflecting on how to bounce back stronger.

Meanwhile, in Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons showcased their dominance with a 2-0 win over Abia Angels. Jenat Akekeromowei opened the scoring in the 49th minute, while Chisom Chima sealed the win with a 77th-minute strike. The Amazons continue to demonstrate why they’re one of the most formidable teams in the league, extending their unbeaten run at home.

In Benin, Edo Queens kept their momentum going with a 2-0 victory over Heartland Queens. Goals from Mary Mamudu in the 40th minute and Esther Inyang in the 76th secured their third consecutive win. Edo Queens’ strong form is turning heads as they continue to show their growing strength in the competition.

Over in Yenagoa, Bayelsa Queens put on an impressive display with a 3-0 victory over Ibom Angels. Kindness Ifeanyi, Delight Isaac, and Dooshima Tarnum were all on the scoresheet as Bayelsa Queens cruised to another well-deserved win, looking every bit the title contenders they are becoming.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels left no room for doubt, securing a 2-0 win over Naija Ratels. The match began with a bang as Titilayo Aweda found the back of the net in the first minute. Mary Moses added a second after the break, and Rivers Angels marched to another three points, underlining their position as one of the top teams.

In Lafia, Benue Queens earned their first-ever point in the NWFL Premiership with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Delta Queens. Joy Ikyagh scored for Benue in the 61st minute, while Destiny Itobor had given Delta the lead in the 12th. This hard-earned point is a huge milestone for Benue, showing their growth in the league.

Lastly, Adamawa Queens faced off against Robo Queens in Numan, and despite an early penalty goal from Waken Katon, it was Opeyemi Ajakaye who stole the show for Robo. Her brace in the 14th and 74th minutes, followed by a third from Oluwakemi Adegbuyi in the 86th, sealed a dominant 3-1 victory for Robo Queens. The win underlined Robo’s title aspirations as they continue to build momentum in the league.

The NWFL Premiership is proving to be as unpredictable as ever, with each team showing moments of brilliance and resilience. For many, it’s about taking the highs and the lows and continuing to fight for every point.
