Matchday 11 of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership delivered fireworks across the country, with high-flying victories, fierce regional battles, and plenty of goals to keep fans on the edge of their seats.

Lagos: Robo Queens Silence Rivers Angels with Statement Win

The action kicked off at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, where FC Robo Queens sent shockwaves through the league by dismantling title contenders Rivers Angels in a commanding 3-0 victory. Kemi Adegbuyi opened the floodgates as early as the 2nd minute, with Mariam Yahaya and Opeyemi Ajakaye sealing the deal in the second half. The Lagos-based side is on a red-hot run, claiming their third straight win and racking up 13 goals in their last three outings while conceding just twice.

With this victory, FC Robo Queens are now third on the log with 19 points, while their closest challenger for the 3rd position in Group B is rooted in the 4th position with 16 points.

Southwest Derby Drama: Dannaz Ladies and Ekiti Queens Share the Spoils

Still at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, the clash between Dannaz Ladies and Ekiti Queens delivered early drama. A goal each within a minute—Rashidat Salau for Dannaz in the 33rd and Augusta Chukwuma for Ekiti in the 34th—set the tone for a balanced and fiercely contested 1-1 draw.

Uyo: Ibom Angels Bounce Back to Beat Naija Ratels

In Uyo, Ibom Angels clawed their way back from a goal down to beat Naija Ratels 2-1. Despite Sofiat Bankole’s opener for the visitors in the 30th minute, the home side flipped the script with goals from Chioma Ashiegbu and Abigail Awak to secure a hard-earned win and send the Uyo faithful into celebration.

Lafia: Nasarawa Amazons Crush Confluence Queens in North Central Derby

The North Central derby was one-way traffic as Nasarawa Amazons dismantled Confluence Queens with a resounding 5-0 win. Amina Bello started the blitz in the 2nd minute before Jenat Akekeromowei stole the show with a sensational hat-trick, netting in the 3rd, 5th, and 24th minutes. Josephine Matthias capped the performance with a 57th-minute strike as the Amazons completed a dominant double over their regional rivals.

This result has solidified Nasarawa Amazons in the 3rd position, as their 5-point advantage over Abia Angels is intact.

Umuahia: Abia Angels Edge Heartland in Oriental Derby

The Oriental Derby in Umuahia was decided by a single moment of brilliance. Olajumoke Abina’s 27th-minute goal proved to be the difference, as Abia Angels bagged a crucial 1-0 win in their pursuit of a Super 6 spot.

Yenagoa: Bayelsa Queens Cruise Past Benue Queens

In Yenagoa, Bayelsa Queens delivered a professional performance to dispatch Benue Queens 2-0. Harmony John struck early in the 10th minute, and Alaba Olabiyi doubled the lead on the hour mark. While the home fans expected a bigger scoreline, the Prosperity Girls kept their focus and picked up another important three points.

Asaba: Early Goal Seals Win for Delta Queens

Delta Queens made their intentions clear straight from kickoff. Priscilla Omeje found the net in the first minute, and that was all they needed to secure a 1-0 win over Adamawa Queens in Asaba. A fast start, a disciplined defence, and three points in the bag.

Ikenne: Edo Queens Win Top-of-the-Table Clash, Stay Unbeaten

In a clash of league heavyweights, defending champions Edo Queens edged Remo Stars Ladies 1-0 in Ikenne. Kafayat Mafisere’s 8th-minute strike was enough to maintain their unbeaten streak and send a strong message to the rest of the league—the queens from Benin are still very much in the title race and hungry for back-to-back glory.

The Road to Super 6 Heats With the Super 6 looming, teams are cranking up the intensity. From unexpected upsets to dominant displays, Matchday 11 proved that nothing is guaranteed in the NWFL Premiership. The title chase, relegation battle, and race for top-six spots are officially in overdrive.
