In a bold move to revive the fortunes of Sunshine Stars Football Club, the Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has officially dissolved the management board of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA).

Effective immediately, Mr Dele Ologun, who served as Executive Chairman, along with all other board members, has been relieved of their positions. They have been instructed to hand over all government property in their possession to the agency’s accounting officer without delay.

This major shake-up signals a new direction for football administration in the state. To steer this transition, Governor Aiyedatiwa has appointed a caretaker committee to take the reins of Sunshine Stars FC—a beloved team with passionate supporters across the state.

Meet the New Sunshine Stars Caretaker Team:

  • Tokunbo Akinyelure – Team Manager & Welfare Officer (Team Lead)
  • Morris Kwaghzever – Special Duties
  • Abdul Wahab – Kits Manager
  • Elias Michael – Masseur
  • Adetula Olumide – Physiotherapist
  • Ayodeji Abe – Camp Commandant
  • Ademola Ayodeji – Assistant Kits Manager 1
  • Oria Sola – Assistant Kits Manager 2
  • Imisi Ayodele – Curator
  • Isaac Afolabi – Media Officer

According to Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, “this new committee will report directly to the Office of the Governor”—a sign of just how seriously this administration is taking the revamp of the state’s football legacy.

The Governor Aiyedatiwa didn’t mince words in his charge to the new team: “It’s time to restore pride, passion, and performance to Sunshine Stars. Let’s bring the glory back!”

With this decisive action, fans and football lovers in Ondo State have reason to hope that brighter days are ahead for their club. All eyes are now on the new team to deliver results, rebuild trust, and reignite the spirit of the beautiful game in the Sunshine State.
