The clash, which took place at a packed venue, was a spectacle from the very first whistle as the Amazons showcased their attacking prowess and clinical finishing to leave their opponents in the dust.

An Explosive First Half: Amazons Hit the Ground Running

The match began at a blistering pace, and it didn’t take long for the Amazons to stamp their authority on the game. In just the 2nd minute, the breakthrough came from a spectacular finish by Bello, giving the home team an early lead. However, this was only the beginning of the onslaught.

Just moments later, Akekoromwei Janet took centre stage, scoring three goals in rapid succession. Her first came in the 3rd minute, a clinical strike that left the Confluence Queens’ defence scrambling. Two minutes later, Janet doubled her tally in the 5th minute with another well-executed goal, and by the 24th minute, she completed her hat-trick with an astonishing finish to make it 4-0.

The dominance displayed by the Amazons in the first half was nothing short of remarkable. Their speed, precision, and tactical execution were evident, leaving Confluence Queens stunned and unable to cope with the relentless attacking pressure.

Second Half Mastery: Nasarawa Amazons Control Possession

After a dominant first half, the Amazons showed no signs of letting up. In the second half, Mathias Josephine got in on the action, adding another goal to make it 5-0. However, Nasarawa Amazons’ performance evolved further. Shifting to a more possession-based approach, they began to play their trademark tiki-taka football, keeping the ball and dictating the tempo of the game. The fans were treated to a display of seamless passing and fluid movement, a testament to the hard work and cohesion that Coach Christopher Danjuma has instilled in the team.

Praise and Reflection: Team Unity and Potential for the Future

Technical Adviser Christopher Danjuma was understandably pleased with his team’s performance, particularly the way they capitalised on the early chances. “We created numerous opportunities right from the start and took full advantage of them. This win is a result of the hard work we’ve been putting in as a team, and while we’re pleased with the victory, our focus remains on building as a unit. Our main goal is to qualify for the Super Six stage and continue improving as the season progresses,” he said.

With the impressive 5-0 victory behind them, Nasarawa Amazons will now turn their attention to their next challenge. On Matchday 12 of the NWFL Premiership, they will face Ekiti Queens in Ibadan.
