In the exciting world of women’s football, optimism and determination can shape the future, and that’s precisely what Dannaz Ladies FC coach Dian Asak (PhD) believes as she shares her thoughts on Nigeria’s Flamingoes ahead of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025.
Dr. Asak-Johnson offered an inspiring perspective on the Flamingoes’ prospects in the tournament scheduled for 17 October to 8 November 2025. Placed in a competitive Group D alongside Samoa, France, and Canada, the Flamingoes face a tough path to better their bronze-medal finish from 2022.

But for Coach Diana, the message is clear: “Nothing is impossible in football,” she says. “If we take our chances and do the needful in terms of team selection, style of play, and total commitment, Nigeria can definitely aim higher this time around and win the trophy.”
She emphasized the importance of what she calls the “3Ds”—Discipline, Determination, and Dedication—as the bedrock of any team’s success. “Sure, we can surpass the bronze medal we won at the last World Cup. We have to be disciplined, determined and dedicated. The coach and his crew are very experienced, which will be vital as they know that their last performance is already a benchmark they have to better. And the only way to do that is to bring the trophy home.

Beyond technical tweaks, Dr Asak offered heartfelt advice to the coaching crew: “My advice for them is to correct those past mistakes and stay focused, and I believe the team and coaches have already gone back to the drawing board to address the mistakes made at the last tournament, and above all, they place God first in all they do”.
Her words underscore a broader message that resonates with both fans and players alike: football is about belief, growth, and unwavering focus. Dr Asak’s inspiring perspective offers a blueprint for how the Flamingoes can fly higher at the World Cup.
