The race for the 2025 NWFL Premiership title took a dramatic twist on Matchday 4 of the Super 6, as the defending champion, Edo Queens, delivered a hammer blow to Bayelsa Queens, effectively resetting the title narrative with one round of fixtures left.

In a tightly contested clash between two heavyweights of women’s football in Nigeria, it was Goodness Osigwe who rose to the occasion, netting a 45th-minute goal that shattered Bayelsa Queens’ 17-game unbeaten streak in the NWFL.

Rivers Angels 2–0 Naija Ratels: Clinical Jewel of Rivers

The second game saw Rivers Angels return to form with a professional 2-0 win over Naija Ratels.

Titilayo Aweda opened the scoring in the 25th minute, giving the Jewel of Rivers the perfect start. The game remained tense until the 86th minute, when Mary Moses calmly doubled the lead, sealing the three points and showing why Rivers Angels remain a perennial powerhouse in Nigerian women’s football.

Remo Stars Ladies 0–0 Nasarawa Amazons: Missed Opportunity

The final game of the day saw Remo Stars Ladies and Nasarawa Amazons cancel each other out in a goalless draw.

With Bayelsa Queens dropping points earlier, this was a golden opportunity for either side to seize control of the title race. Instead, both teams settled for a point, leaving the standings even tighter.
