In a story that has gripped the hearts of Nigerians, popular Nollywood actress Jumoke George has been reunited with her long-lost daughter, Adeola, after a harrowing four-year separation caused by human trafficking.

The emotional reunion unfolded this week as Adeola was received home from Mali, where she had been trafficked. For years, Jumoke George had publicly expressed her anguish over the mysterious disappearance of her daughter, with no clue as to her whereabouts.

The turning point came when actress and filmmaker Biola Bayo brought attention to the case, sharing it on her platform and prompting a cascade of efforts to locate the missing young woman. Alongside Bayo was fellow actor Niyi Johnson, who also played a supportive role in Adeola’s return.

The news was confirmed by Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), who personally received Adeola upon her return. According to Dabiri-Erewa, the case highlights the grim realities of human trafficking, a crisis that continues to affect young Nigerians, particularly women.

“Breaking! Adeola, daughter of popular actress Jumoke George, who cried out that she had not heard from her daughter in four years, is back home from Mali, where she was trafficked to,” Dabiri wrote in a post. “Just received her, with Biola Adebayo, who broke the story, and Niyi Johnson.”

While the full details surrounding Adeola’s trafficking ordeal are still emerging, her safe return marks a moment of deep emotional relief—not only for her family but for fans of Nollywood who have closely followed Jumoke George’s plight over the years.

This reunion serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by human trafficking and the importance of community voices, advocacy, and media in bringing such victims home. For now, the George family is healing, holding on tightly to a second chance they feared may never come.

More updates will follow as details of her rescue operation and reintegration are made public.
