The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Referee Development Unit has officially released the names of local instructors and young referees invited to participate in the prestigious 2025 FIFA Member Association (MA) Course. This initiative is a major step forward in ensuring the continuous development and high standards of officiating within Nigerian football.
According to a circular signed by Nasiru Ibrahim, on behalf of the Head of the Referee Development Unit, a total of 40 local instructors—including physical and technical instructors—alongside 40 young talented referees, have been selected to participate in this intensive course.

The program will be hosted in two phases at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja:
For Instructors:
- Date: 8th to 13th June, 2025
- Venue: Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja
All instructors are expected to come prepared with their laptops, tablets, or Android phones, equipped with sufficient data to access the internet throughout the training period.
For Young Talented Referees:
- Date: 15th to 19th June, 2025
- Venue: Package A, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja

The young talents are also instructed to bring comprehensive medical certificates from recognized government hospitals, along with their devices and internet-ready data, to fully engage with the course materials and practical sessions.
Of particular note is the inclusion of some of the young women referees who recently showcased their skills during the NWFL Super 6 competition in Ikenne Remo, Ogun State. Their selection highlights the NFF’s commitment to gender inclusivity and the development of female officials within the country’s football ecosystem.
