Following the unforgettable success of Showtime Bowl XII, the Showtime Flag Football League, under the leadership of Chairman Azeez Amida, has announced an ambitious 18-month plan focused on nationwide infrastructure development, grassroots talent cultivation, and strategic expansion across Nigeria.
This future-focused initiative will include the rollout of dedicated flag football stadiums across key states, a move that is set to revolutionize the game’s structure and accessibility nationwide.

The plan also includes extending the league to six more states—Kwara, Enugu, Ogun, Ondo, Bayelsa, and Akwa Ibom—and launching a weekly U-10 clinic in Lagos to nurture talent from the grassroots.
Speaking after the record-breaking finale of Showtime Bowl XII, which saw the Warriors defeat L.A. Knights to lift the ₦9 million trophy, Amida emphasized the league’s commitment to building a sustainable sports ecosystem.

“We are laying the foundation—literally and figuratively—for the future of flag football in Nigeria,” said Amida. “Our goal is to give every child, athlete, and coach a facility to dream in, train in, and excel in.”
The Showtime Bowl was streamed in over 40 countries, featured a halftime performance by Sean Tizzle, and hosted top dignitaries, including NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Bukola Olopade, who pledged continued support for the sport’s growth.
Amida also expressed deep appreciation to the National Sports Commission for embracing the vision of a national flag football federation, signalling a new chapter for organized flag football in the country.

“Flag football is no longer just emerging—it’s evolving. And infrastructure is the key that will unlock its full potential,” Amida added.
