Anas Yusuf of Nasarawa United has been crowned the top scorer of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, earning the coveted Eunisell Gold Boot and a remarkable ₦3.6 million cash prize. The official award ceremony is set for Friday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in GRA Ikeja, Lagos, where Yusuf will receive a gold-plated boot and ₦200,000 for each of his 18 goals.

The Eunisell Boot, sponsored by Eunisell—West Africa’s leading specialty chemicals and oilfield services company—recognizes and celebrates exceptional talent in Nigerian football. Chika Ikenga, Group Managing Director of Eunisell, emphasized the award’s significance:

“The Eunisell Boot is not just an award; it’s our long-term commitment to rewarding hard work and developing Nigerian football. Anas Yusuf’s 18-goal haul is a testament to what happens when talent meets opportunity.”

Yusuf’s prolific season included two hat-tricks, one brace, and ten single-goal performances, putting him ahead of Kano Pillars’ Rabiu Ali and Abia Warriors’ Sunday Megwo—both of whom finished with 13 goals each. His stellar contributions accounted for almost half of Nasarawa United’s total of 40 goals this season, a crucial factor in helping the club narrowly avoid relegation.

This victory marks a significant achievement for Nasarawa United, as Yusuf becomes the second player from the club to win the Eunisell Boot, following Sunusi Ibrahim’s triumph in 2019.

Previous Eunisell Boot winners include Junior Lokosa, who claimed the title in 2018 with Kano Pillars; Sunusi Ibrahim and Mfon Udoh, who shared the accolade in 2019 while playing for Nasarawa United and Enyimba, respectively; Israel Abia, who lifted the trophy in 2020 with Rangers; and Chijioke Akuneto, who emerged as the top scorer in 2022 while representing Rivers United.

In contrast, Lobi Stars endured a difficult campaign, managing just 29 goals in 38 matches and ultimately suffering relegation to the Nigeria National League (NNL).

The Eunisell Boot continues to highlight the outstanding talent within the NPFL, inspiring players and fans alike to embrace the vibrant future of Nigerian domestic football. Anas Yusuf’s remarkable feat is not only a personal milestone but a shining example of the league’s growing potential and competitiveness.
