The Lagos State Football Association (Lagos FA) has announced a strategic adjustment to the schedule of the ongoing Men’s State League. All Week 13 matches have officially been postponed and will now be held next week.

This decision comes in light of the much-anticipated President Federation Cup 2025 Grand Finale, set for Saturday at the iconic Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan. Lagos FA is playing host to this prestigious national event and, as such, is rallying all available support to ensure a successful outing.

Speaking on the development, Musbau Oseni, Chief Operating Officer of the Lagos State League, emphasized the importance of aligning local activities with national priorities. “It is a significant occasion not just for Lagos football but for Nigerian football as a whole. As hosts, it’s important that we channel our full attention and manpower to support the successful execution of the President Federation Cup Final,” he said.

League matches are now scheduled to resume on Sunday, ensuring minimal disruption while respecting the national football calendar.

In another exciting update, plans for the Super 4 Championship—the climax of the state league season—have also been confirmed. The Lagos FA has secured the Legacy Pitch at the National Stadium, Surulere, as the official venue. The tournament will run from July 15 to 18, 2025, and promises to be a thrilling showcase of grassroots football excellence.

“We urge all stakeholders, teams, fans, and partners to give their full support as we prepare for the Super 4,” Mr. Oseni added. “Let’s work together to make it a celebration of football and community spirit.”
