Elite Referees Set to Officiate 2025 Eko International Cup in Lagos

As preparations ramp up for the much-anticipated 2025 Eko International Cup, the Referees committee has confirmed the appointment of elite match officials for the competition.

A total of eight referees, seven assistant referees, and six seasoned assessors have been carefully selected to oversee matches at the tournament, which will feature some of the biggest clubs in Nigerian football, including Remo Stars, Rivers United, Shooting Stars, Enyimba International, Ikorodu City and FC Kallon of Sierra Leone.

These officials represent a blend of international pedigree, domestic league experience, and respected veterans. The group includes FIFA-badged referees, tested Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) referees, and retired FIFA referee assessors, ensuring that officiating is of the highest possible standard.

Referees from Lagos and Beyond

Most of the appointed officials hail from the Lagos State Referees Council, which is also the host of the Eko International Cup. However, in the spirit of diversity and technical merit, Kabir Sadiq (from Osun State) and Lawal Ridwan (from Oyo State) have also been drafted in for their experience and integrity on the pitch.

Led by Engineering Precision and Experience

The coordination of referees for the tournament will be under the experienced guidance of Engineer Adams Salauddin, the current Chairman of the Lagos State Football Referees Council and a respected NPFL referee assessor. His leadership is expected to provide structure and continuity throughout the tournament.
