After 12 weeks of intense competition, unforgettable performances, and a wave of emotions, Nigerian Idol Season 10 has a new champion—and it’s none other than Purp. The soulful songstress emerged victorious during Sunday’s grand finale, becoming the first female contestant to win the coveted title since 2014.

The live finale delivered a night of magic, hosted by the ever-charismatic IK Osakioduwa. With vibrant musical tributes, celebrity appearances, and incredible duets, it was a fitting end to a season packed with talent. Purp and fellow finalist Raymu went head-to-head in a breathtaking final showdown that had fans glued to their screens and phones as they cast their votes.

But it was Purp’s captivating voice, unwavering consistency, and magnetic presence that ultimately earned her the crown. Her victory was sealed by the highest number of viewer votes, a testament to the deep connection she formed with fans across the country.

Fighting back tears, an overwhelmed Purp addressed the audience with sincere gratitude.

“Thank you so much, guys. Thank you so much, Nigeria. I’m really grateful and honoured for this. Thank you for your support. I love you guys so much. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

An Unforgettable Season of Talent

This year’s journey began with online auditions open to Nigerians aged 16 to 30. After weeks of screening and live performances starting May 25, the Top 10 contestants—Mikki, Raymu, Ellacentric, Kristopher, Sally, Boss Lady, Brammy, Jkenova, Lawrence, and Purp—competed fiercely each week.

Under the watchful eyes of judges Omawumi, Ric Hassani, and Iyanya, and joined during the finale by guest judge 9ice, the contestants were judged on vocal strength, stage presence, and overall star quality. However, it was ultimately the fans’ votes that made all the difference.
