The Female Football Academics Proprietors (FEFAP) Nigeria, organisers of the Women Accredited Football Academy (WAFA) League, have extended heartfelt congratulations to three of their brightest graduates who shone for the Super Falcons at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The players—Oluwatosin Demehin, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Shukura Oladipo—were instrumental in Nigeria’s successful completion of Mission X, lifting a record-extending 10th continental crown.

Celebrating the WAFA Stars

FEFAP President Jaiyeola Damilare, alongside Pioneer Chairman Iremere John, Emeritus President Prince Ganiyu Adetunji, and stakeholders of the organisation, praised the trio for their commitment, resilience, and excellence on the global stage.

  • Oluwatosin Demehin, who began her career with Victory Queens of Lagos in the WAFA League, now plays professionally for Galatasaray Ladies in Turkey. She was a defensive rock for Nigeria throughout the tournament.
  • Folashade Ijamilusi, formerly of Springsoca Academy, Lagos, represents Liaoning Baiye in China, and brought creativity and vision to the Super Falcons attack.
  • Shukura Oladipo, who starred for Heroes Queens of Lagos in the WAFA League, currently turns out for AS Roma Femminile in Italy. Her defensive flair helped Nigeria dominate opponents on the way to the trophy.

WAFA’s Impact on Nigerian Football

In their congratulatory statement, FEFAP emphasised that the achievements of Demehin, Ijamilusi, and Oladipo are a reflection of the organisation’s commitment to grassroots football. Through the WAFA League, FEFAP has produced hundreds of players now active in the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) and in professional leagues across Europe, Asia, and America.

The league has also been a consistent pipeline for Nigeria’s underage national teams, reinforcing its status as one of the most important talent-development structures in African women’s football.

Mission X: A Dream Fulfilled

For FEFAP, the Super Falcons’ victory was more than just another trophy. It was a validation of years of hard work, vision, and investment in the future of women’s football. The organisation described the players’ triumph as a proud moment not only for their academies but for every young girl across Nigeria who dreams of playing football at the highest level.

“Your success is our pride,” FEFAP’s statement read. “You have shown that with discipline and determination, grassroots talent can become world-class champions. We are proud of your journey and the inspiration you bring to Nigerian football.”
