Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner Opeyemi Ayanwale, fondly known as Imisi, has shared her plans to pursue a career in Nollywood, revealing her admiration for award-winning filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele.
The 23-year-old reality star, who emerged as the ultimate winner of the popular reality TV show, said she dreams of working with Akindele — describing her as both a mentor and an inspiration in the film industry.
Imisi made this known during a media interaction shortly after receiving her ₦150 million grand prize and brand-new SUV at a presentation ceremony in Lagos.

“I think people saw a lot of my acting skills in the house. Even housemates said I’m a great actress. I’m ready for more,” Imisi told journalists with a smile.
According to her, her time on the Big Brother Naija show rekindled her passion for acting, giving fans a glimpse of her on-screen potential. She added that she hopes to build a solid acting career with the right mentorship and opportunities.
“Yes, Funke Akindele is my number one mentor. I hope to work with her someday. Also, Bimbo Ademoye and Bolaji Ogunmola inspire me a lot,” she added.
Reflecting on her victory, Imisi described the moment as overwhelming and expressed deep gratitude to her fans, saying she’s still adjusting to her newfound fame.

“I’m still in shock. The love and support from people across Nigeria have been incredible,” she said.
When asked about suggestions that regional support influenced her win, Imisi admitted that cultural pride may have played a role but maintained that her authenticity was what truly connected her to the audience.
“Maybe. I think Yoruba people are very supportive of their own, so yes, that might’ve helped. But honestly, I was just being myself. It wasn’t a strategy. I was only living my truth,” she explained.
Beyond the glitz of fame, Imisi shared her intention to stay grounded and purposeful. She acknowledged the unwavering prayers and encouragement from her Celestial Church community, which she said strengthened her through the competition.

“Fame is new to me. I’ll seek mentorship, learn, and be intentional. I want to keep evolving,” she said.
