It was a morning of colour, cheers, and celebration inside the Adeyemi Bero Hall at the Alausa Secretariat as the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, joined by Permanent Secretaries from various ministries, Directors in the Lagos State Public Service and sponsors of the Y2025 HOS Games, decorated the 2025 Head of Service (HOS) Games medalists.

In his address, Mr. Bode Agoro congratulated all the winners, noting that sports play a vital role in strengthening unity and camaraderie within the Lagos State workforce. He commended the participants for their dedication, discipline, and display of true sportsmanship throughout the games, while encouraging them to build on their achievements and continue striving for excellence beyond the competition.

The annual HOS Games, which celebrates teamwork, wellness, and camaraderie among Lagos State civil servants, reached another milestone as winners across several sports were honoured with medals, trophies, and cash prizes.

While the highly anticipated finals of the men’s and women’s football events, as well as the tug of war, are still to come, participants in other categories have already received their rewards for outstanding performances.

As it stands, the Public Service Office (PSO) tops the medal standings with three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. The State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) closely follows with two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes. Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) currently sits in third place with two gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.

The women’s football final between PSO and SUBEB is expected to be a thrilling encounter that could determine the overall winner of this year’s HOS Games. A win for PSO would cement their lead at the top, while a SUBEB victory could dramatically flip the table and move them into first place.
