The Super Eagles camp is gradually finding its rhythm in Cairo as Nigeria’s senior national team continues preparations for its AFCON 2025, with several key players arriving late on Monday night to strengthen the squad.

Ademola Lookman, Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Zaidu Sanusi, Amas Obasogie, Igho Ogbu and Tochukwu Nnadi all checked into camp around midnight, injecting fresh energy and experience into the group as on-field activities draw closer.

Their arrival takes the number of players currently in camp to eleven, a significant boost for the technical crew as they begin to shape tactical plans and assess player fitness ahead of the upcoming fixtures. An additional twelve players are expected to arrive later today, a development that will bring the squad close to full strength.

Among those already settled in camp are goalkeepers Francis Uzoho and Stanley Nwabali, both competing for the starting spot between the sticks. Midfield options have also begun to take shape with Fisayo Dele Bashiru and Akinsanmiro Ebenezer present, offering balance and creativity in the middle of the park.

The presence of Ademola Lookman is particularly notable, with the winger coming off a strong run of form at club level. His pace, confidence and eye for goal remain crucial to Nigeria’s attacking plans. Semi Ajayi’s arrival adds calm and leadership to the defence, while Osayi Samuel and Zaidu Sanusi provide width and intensity from the flanks.

Defenders Igho Ogbu and Tochukwu Nnadi are also expected to push hard in training as they look to make strong impressions on the coaching crew.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to hold their first full training session later tonight. This session will officially mark the start of on-pitch preparations, allowing the coaches to work closely with the players on shape, pressing patterns and match readiness.
