The countdown is over. The stage is set. And the next chapter of African flag football is ready to explode into life as Showtime Bowl Series XIV (SBXIV) kicks off this Sunday at the iconic Showtime Arena.

From its humble beginnings to becoming Africa’s first professional flag football league, Showtime has grown into a movement—one redefining sport, entertainment, and opportunity for a new generation of athletes across Nigeria and beyond.

Scheduled for Sunday, March 22 at 2PM, the new season will feature 10 teams battling for supremacy, now representing a broader national spread:

Rivers Alphas, Lagos Knights, Ogun Horns, Delta Braves, Abia Warriors, Lagos Greenbacks, Lagos Rebels, Cross River Ikan, Ibom Raptors, and Delta Panthers.

Each team enters the season with renewed ambition—some chasing redemption, others defending pride, and all with eyes firmly fixed on the ultimate prize: the Showtime Bowl XIV crown.

Week 1 Fixtures — Opening Day Showdown

Rivers Alphas vs Lagos Knights — 3:20 PM

Ogun Horns vs Delta Braves — 4:40 PM

Abia Warriors vs Lagos Greenbacks — 6:00 PM

Lagos Rebels vs Cross River Ikan — 7:20 PM

Ibom Raptors vs Delta Panthers — 8:40 PM

“Game ready or not… it’s here. No fear. No limits. Only the strongest survive.”

That is the tone heading into opening day, where intensity is guaranteed and every moment will matter. With fresh identities, regional pride, and heightened competition, SBXIV is already shaping up to be the most expansive and competitive season yet.

Speaking ahead of the new season, Azeez Amida, President and Founder of Showtime, reaffirmed the league’s mission:

“This is more than just a season—it’s a statement. We are building a professional sports ecosystem where athletes can dream, grow, and succeed. Every year, we raise the standard, and SBXIV will show once again why Showtime is leading the flag football movement in Africa.

No waiting. No holding back. This is the moment for every player, every team, and every fan.”

Beyond the action on the field, Showtime continues to push boundaries with its commitment to youth development, inclusivity, and professional league structure, positioning Nigeria as a growing powerhouse in global flag football.

As fans prepare to flood the arena and thousands more tune in online, the question remains:

Who takes the crown?

The road to Showtime Bowl XIV begins now—and every team is coming for the title.
