The new Coach of Dream  stars Ladies of Lagos, Sheriff Tajudeen has stated that he chose to coach the Lagos based female club, so as to help improve the team, as well as to help the female football League in Nigeria.

The UEFA Licensed Coach stated this after taking charge of his first game, as the team’s new head coach, which unfortunately ended up in a loss at home for his team to Pelican Stars on Wednesday.
Speaking with Sports 247, after his team’s loss, when being asked the reason for choosing Dream Atars Ladies, despite his UEFA Coaching License, Sanusi stated that he has a very cordial relationship with the chairman of the club (Dream Stars Ladies), but his main aim was to help improve the club, as well as to help the Nigerian Female Football League.

“Firstly, the Chairman of the club is a personal friend of mine. We have been involved in Women Football project over the last 3 years and we just had an informal conversations about it and I thought it was a good opportunity to improve the club and also help the Nigerian Female Football League in certain aspect”.
“But my major focus is on this club. I have a soft club personally for under represented groups, which include women. Women Football is something that has been on the sidelines in Nigeria for quite some time now and I think anything that we can do to bring the spotlight to Women football is beneficial for women in Nigeria”, he stated.

Sheriff Tajudeen finally stated that the League is a Marathon, not a sprint and the team should not be judged with a single game, till the end of the season, when the team can be assessed.
