Sporting Lagos FC returns Premier League Football To Lagos

Sporting Lagos FC have clinched promotion into Nigeria’s elite league, the NPFL just in their second season.

The team which escaped relegation in their debut season topped the Group that consisted of Crown FC, Ijebu United, Gateway FC, Smart City and Joy Cometh to qualified for NNL Playoff in Asaba.

Sporting Lagos this evening cruised to 2-0 win over Abeokuta Stormers SC at the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 Playoffs,

The Lagos side backed their opening day win over FC ONE Rocket up with a gritty win over Stormers at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba. Rivio Ayemwenre and Saturday Okon scored the goals in the second half to secure one of the promotion tickets in the Southern Conference with just a game to spare.

By this victory, Spotting Lagos became the first team to clinched promotion ticket in the ongoing playoffs.

The Lagosians who missed Premier League action last season due to the unfortunate relegation of MFM FC will have so much to savour when the new season began in August.

The Chairman of Sporting Lagos, Godwin Enakhena who promoted MFM FC to Premier League six years ago has done it again with Sporting Lagos promotion.
