Week 3 of the Showtime Summer Series, played under the Nigeria Flag Football Federation, brought fireworks across the board—from dominant displays to defensive duels and major upsets. With the season heating up, contenders are beginning to separate from the pack.

Greenbacks Overwhelm Off-SZN with 55-Point Blitz

Still looking for their first win since last season, Off-SZN entered Week 3 with high hopes—but the Greenbacks quickly turned that hope into heartbreak.

Sharon opened the scoring, and from there, the Greenbacks never looked back. Emeka Okeke was electric with two touchdowns, while Mololuwa and Olanrewaju showcased the strength of the squad’s female stars. Oluwatobi and Philip added more heat as the Greenbacks rolled to a 55–7 win.

Clinton Junior gave Off-SZN a brief moment of celebration with a touchdown, and Ambrose added a sharp interception. But it was all Greenbacks all game, moving them to 2–1, while Off-SZN fell to 0–3.

Warriors Crush Lagos Alpha to Stay Close to the Top

If there’s one team not named L.A. Knights that’s putting the league on notice, it’s the Warriors.

They completely outclassed Lagos Alpha with a stunning 55–0 shutout, marking back-to-back games without conceding a single point. With playmakers firing on all cylinders and a defence that simply refuses to break, the Warriors remain the most dangerous challenger to the Knights.

At 2–1, they’re chasing hard—and looking forward to a potential clash with the top team.

L.A. Knights Dominate Panthers to Stay Unbeaten

The L.A. Knights proved once again why they’re the team to beat, dismantling the Panthers in a commanding 48–14 victory. Led by quarterback Tayo and a high-powered offence, the Knights took control early and never let up.

With this win, they move to 3–0, the only undefeated team left in the league. Their consistency, chemistry, and execution have made them early favourites for the Showtime Bowl, and every week, they’re backing it up with results.

The Panthers showed flashes but couldn’t keep up with the pace and precision of the Knights’ attack.

Raptors Stun Ikan Sports in Defensive Battle

The upset of the weekend came from the Lagos Raptors, who handed Ikan Sports their first loss of the season in a gritty 6–0 showdown.

In a game dominated by defence, the Raptors held Ikan’s explosive offence scoreless—a rare feat. A single touchdown proved to be enough, as the Raptors improved to 2–1 and tightened the playoff race.

After blowing out opponents in Weeks 1 and 2, Ikan Sports was humbled and will now need to bounce back in Week 4.
