The 2025 Ibadan NLO Playoff kicked off in dramatic fashion as Real Sapphire FC, the least experienced side of the group, pulled off a stunning 2-0 victory over seasoned campaigners FC Ebedei.

Widely regarded as underdogs due to their lack of Nigeria National League (NNL) experience, Real Sapphire flipped the script in style, showing grit, character, and technical brilliance that left fans and pundits buzzing.

The tide turned in the 20th minute when Ayomide Junaid fired in a thunderous strike from outside the box to give Real Sapphire the lead—a goal that set the tone for the rest of the encounter.

Just before halftime, Junaid stepped up again—this time converting from the penalty spot in the 37th minute to double the advantage. The composure, confidence, and energy from Real Sapphire left FC Ebedei stunned.

Despite some attacking surges in the second half, the Sagamu Warlords failed to capitalize on their chances, as the match ended 2-0 in favour of Real Sapphire.
