The high-stakes final saw Rivers Angels lift the President Federation Cup for the tenth time and Kwara United lift the prestigious national title for the first time in their history. While Rivers Angels defeated Nasarawa Amazons in a penalty shootout after two goals apiece in regulation time, the Afonja Warriors defeated giant-killers Abakaliki FC 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time. But beyond the drama on the pitch, what truly captivated the football community was the exceptional organisation and electric atmosphere created by the Lagos FA.

From crowd control to pitch readiness, media coordination, and fan engagement, the Lagos FA demonstrated professionalism, foresight, and dedication that drew widespread admiration.

Chairman of the Lagos FA, Hajji Gafar Liameed, thanked stakeholders for their support and credited the success to collaborative efforts between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the GTI-led Nigeria Football Fund (TNFF), and, most importantly, the Lagos State Government under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

He emphasized that the current Lagos FA board remains committed to the growth and development of grassroots football in alignment with the Lagos State Government’s broader agenda to uplift youth through sport.
