Week One of the Showtime Bowl Series XIII lived up to the hype, delivering jaw-dropping scorelines, shock upsets, and a complete reshuffle of the league standings. If the opening week is anything to go by, this season promises to be one of the most unpredictable yet.

The headline story came from Panthers Sports, who exploded onto the stage with a 67–12 demolition of the Lekki Braves. Their dominant display saw them climb an astonishing eight places to the top of the standings, instantly announcing themselves as early contenders. The Braves, meanwhile, were left reeling, dropping to the bottom at tenth.

Not far behind, defending champions Warriors Flag Football showed they have no intention of surrendering their crown. Their commanding 43–14 victory over the Lagos Raptors propelled them eight places to second, firmly placing them in pursuit of the Panthers. The Raptors slid down to ninth after the defeat.

The Lagos Athletic Knights also impressed, dispatching the Lagos Rebels 34–7 to move into third place. The Rebels fell two spots to eighth.

Elsewhere, the Lagos Alpha edged out the Mainland Long Horns 22–18 in a tight contest. Despite the win, Alpha slipped one spot to fourth, while the Long Horns climbed to seventh.

In another thriller, Ikan Sports beat the Greenbacks Flag Football 34–32. But while Ikan now sit fifth, the Greenbacks endured a steep fall, tumbling down five spots to sixth.

The opening week has already turned the table on its head, with the Panthers and Warriors rising from the shadows to dominate early headlines. With nine more weeks of action still to come, fans are asking: can the Panthers sustain their blistering form, or will the Warriors reclaim top spot in their quest to defend the title?
