If there were ever a contest to crown the greatest athlete in the history of the Lagos State Head of Service (HOS) Games, Bose Odusanya would win it effortlessly. Once again, the table tennis sensation etched her name in gold after clinching her sixth consecutive Women’s Singles title at the 2025 edition of the Games.
Her remarkable victory this morning drew applause from the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, alongside several dignitaries in attendance, all marveling at her enduring brilliance and consistency.

Odusanya’s dominance didn’t stop at the individual level. The multi-talented athlete played a pivotal role in her team’s overall success, helping the Public Service Office (PSO) secure two gold medals and one silver, a performance that has kept PSO firmly at the top of the medals table.
Not done with table tennis, the Lagos star has also qualified for the women’s football final, proving her versatility across different sports disciplines.
Speaking exclusively with Awijare Sports during the medal presentation ceremony, the six-time champion shared the mindset behind her incredible run and what fuels her unrelenting pursuit of excellence.

“I’m so excited to win again this year,” she said with a confident smile. “Being a champion doesn’t mean I relax. I work hard for every medal. My opponents are good players, but I train hard because I know hard work always pays off.”
When asked if her repeated success comes from weak competition, Odusanya was quick to dismiss the notion.
“It’s not because the others aren’t strong,” she explained. “They are experienced players, and they play well. But I never take any match lightly. I train very hard for every competition—whether it’s HOS Games or any other event.”
While the men’s table tennis event saw a surprising dethroning of its perennial champion earlier in the day, Odusanya insists that such outcomes don’t shake her confidence.
“It doesn’t send any warning to me,” she said firmly. “I always prepare like I have never won before. Even if I’m playing an amateur, I put in the same effort. That’s how I stay on top.”
As she looks ahead, Bose Odusanya remains clear about her ambitions: she intends to remain champion for as long as she continues to compete.
