In a competition defined by sharp thinking, mental stamina and exceptional word power, Tomisin Okedairo of Multi Grace College in Alimosho rose above hundreds of contestants to become the overall champion of the 2025 Obasa Games Scrabble event.

Representing Educational District One, Tomisin delivered one of the most remarkable performances of the tournament. From the opening rounds to the final table, the young talent showed maturity beyond his age and a deep understanding of Scrabble strategy. His calculated tile management and bold scoring choices helped him navigate a field packed with skilled opponents from across Lagos State.

The final round saw Tomisin face another standout competitor, Joel Ajetunmobi of Lagos City Senior High School Yaba, representing Educational District Four. It was a tense and competitive encounter, but Tomisin maintained his calm, executed his plays with precision and secured the top position. Ajetunmobi’s impressive run earned him a well-deserved second place.

Finishing in third position was Aneef Kelani of Heritage Global Academy Ikorodu, the representative of District Two. His performance rounded off a podium made up of players who demonstrated remarkable intelligence and tactical discipline.

The Scrabble event featured hundreds of students from schools spread across the five divisions of Lagos State. Their participation brought energy, colour and a strong sense of rivalry to a competition designed to celebrate academic strength as much as sporting ability.

To reward the top performers, the organisers announced a prize pool of five hundred thousand naira to be shared among the medal winners. Gold, silver and bronze medals will also be presented to celebrate their achievements in the 2025 Obasa Games Scrabble event.
