Nationwide League One introduces its rebranding, governance updates, and vision for the future at its Annual General Meeting in Abuja

The Nationwide League One, known as Africa’s largest youth football league, is stepping into the 2026 season with a renewed identity, clearer direction, and a stronger commitment to grassroots football development. These changes were unveiled in Abuja during the league’s Annual General Meeting, a gathering that brought together club executives, league officials, and key stakeholders to set the tone for the new season.

One of the major announcements from the meeting was the league’s proposed kickoff date. The 2026 Nationwide League One season is tentatively scheduled to begin on Friday, April 10, giving clubs and academies a clear timeline as they prepare for another competitive year. The AGM also served as the official unveiling of the NLO’s new logo, a rebrand designed to signal the league’s evolution and ambition. The updated identity was revealed through a strategic partnership with Zkyte Technology. According to the Director General of the National Directorate of Employment, the collaboration is aimed at improving the league’s operations and aligning its branding with modern global standards in sports management.

The League Chairman, Honourable Silas Agara emphasised that the refreshed visual identity represents more than aesthetics. He explained that the new graphics and wordmark highlight the dynamism, athleticism, and potential that define over three hundred clubs and academies participating in the NLO’s Division One and U19 Youth League. He noted that the rebrand is a direct reflection of the league’s mission to discover promising talent and create sustainable pathways for young players looking to advance in their careers.
