From Lagos to Umuahia and from Aba to Abuja, every fixture offered its own storyline as teams began to show their true identities in the chase for early-season relevance.
The day opened with FC Robo Queens asserting their authority at home with a 2 – 0 victory over Delta Queens. After a tight first half where both sides showed structured defending, the Lagos side stepped up the tempo after the break. Rodiat Yusuf broke the deadlock in the 50th minute, and Tosin Rafiu doubled the lead eight minutes later. Robo’s dominance in possession and shot creation made the difference, and Yusuf’s commanding display at left back earned her woman of the match.

In Yola, Adamawa Queens edged Ibom Angels 1 – 0 in a contest defined by grit and persistence. Ifeoma Damian pounced during a goalmouth scramble in the 16th minute, and despite Ibom Angels growing into the game and mounting pressure, the hosts held steady until the final whistle.
Ado Ekiti witnessed a cagey affair as Ekiti Queens fell 0-1 to Edo Queens. Atume Doosuur produced the decisive moment in the 65th minute with a well-placed header that stunned the home crowd. Edo Queens controlled the crucial phases of the match and climbed higher in Group A with the win.
Remo Stars Ladies continued their confident start to the season with a 2 – 0 away victory over Confluence Queens in Iyamho. Khadijat Anifowoshe scored early in the 12th minute, and Similoluwa Okesiji sealed the win late in stoppage time.
Over in Aba, Abia Angels impressed with a commanding 2-0 win over Osun Babes. First-half goals from Winner David and Blessing Okon set the tone for a dominant performance built on crisp movement in midfield and consistent attacking pressure. The Angels dictated play from the centre of the pitch and could have scored more if not for the heroics of Osun Babes goalkeeper Boniface Elizabeth.
The historical NWFL match inside Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, between Pacesetters Queens and Rivers Angels ended 1-2 in favour of the away team. Grace Saliu opened scoring for Rivers Angels in the second minute before Teslimot Balogun equalized in the 28th minute. Ramotalahi Kareem restored the lead twelve minutes later, and the visitors managed the rest of the match to secure all points.

Nasarawa Amazons delivered one of the most polished away performances of the matchday with a 2-0 win over Ahudiyannem Queens in Umuahia. After a disciplined first half, the Amazons shifted gears after the restart. Ohunene Sunday scored three minutes into the second half, and substitute Ikediuba Peace finished a flowing move in the 74th minute to secure the victory. Their technical superiority and tactical organization stood out throughout the ninety minutes.
The biggest scoreline of the day came in Abuja, where Bayelsa Queens overpowered Naija Ratels with a 5-0 statement win. Kesiena Ojiyovwi struck in the 12th minute, and Kindness Ifeanyi added another in the 36th minute to close out the first half. Bayelsa Queens resumed control after the break, and substitute Alaba Olabiyi netted twice in the 73rd and 80th minutes. Delight Isaac added the fifth three minutes later. It was a commanding display of confidence and cutting-edge finishing. Coach Whyte Ogbonda praised the team’s focus and consistency, while Naija Ratels coach Sabo Okala admitted the better side won.

In Akure, Sunshine Queens secured a professional 2-0 victory over Dannaz Ladies, with both goals coming from the penalty spot. Precious Edewor converted in the 11th minute, and Lolade Akintunde added the second just before halftime.
Across all nine fixtures, Matchday three provided renewed insight into this season’s emerging contenders. Bayelsa Queens, Nasarawa Amazons and Remo Stars Ladies displayed authority. FC Robo Queens showed balance and discipline. Abia Angels looked dynamic in midfield, while Edo Queens produced a vital away performance under pressure.
As the league progresses into Matchday four, the table is tightening and rivalries are intensifying. Every point earned now could prove decisive in the run toward the mid-season break.
