Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie has reaffirmed her reputation as Africa’s premier goalkeeper after winning the Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third consecutive time at the CAF Awards 2025 staged on Wednesday in Rabat, Morocco. The ceremony, hosted at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, once again placed the 24-year-old at the summit of African women’s football and highlighted her growing global influence.
The award, introduced in 2023, has been dominated entirely by Nnadozie from the moment it was created. Her latest triumph crowns a remarkable year defined by excellence, consistency, and leadership for both club and country.

Nnadozie’s performances played a major role in Nigeria’s historic tenth Africa Women’s Cup of Nations title secured on July 26 at the Rabat Olympic Stadium. She finished the tournament as Best Goalkeeper and earned a deserved place in the Team of the Tournament after a series of decisive displays that underlined her reliability on the biggest stages.
Her international standing rose further earlier in the year when she finished fifth in the inaugural women’s Yashin Trophy at the France Football Ballon d’Or 2025 ceremony. It was the highest placement ever achieved by an African goalkeeper and a clear testament to her rising global acclaim.
