Ikorodu City FC continued their impressive form in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, securing their first away win with a commanding 2-0 victory over Warri Wolves in Ozoro, Delta State, on Sunday.

The Pride of Lagos, who have now gone seven matches unbeaten, displayed remarkable discipline, determination, and tactical awareness throughout the encounter to claim all three points on the road.

It was a dream start for the visitors as early as the 19th minute when Tomisin Adebayo rose highest to head home a precise cross from Folarin Temitope, giving Ikorodu City a well-deserved lead. The goal settled the Lagos side’s nerves and silenced the home supporters at the Ozoro Stadium.

Ikorodu City maintained control of the game, keeping Warri Wolves at bay with a compact midfield and swift counterattacks. Their persistence paid off once again in first-half added time when Goodluck Anuba doubled the advantage with a well-taken finish. The build-up involved brilliant work from captain Waliu Sulaimon, whose cross found Arumala, and the forward’s headed pass set up Anuba to strike cleanly into the net.

The second half saw a professional display from Ikorodu City, as Coach Bright Ozegbagbe made strategic substitutions to manage the game. Tosin Oyedokun, Rasheed Owolabi, and Uche Jaguar replaced Tomisin, Folarin, and Naheem Odugbemi, ensuring fresh energy and composure in the latter stages.

Despite late pressure from the hosts, the Lagos side stood firm, with goalkeeper Michael Atata keeping a clean sheet for the second straight week. A late change saw Emmanuel Matthias come on for Chidera Oparaocha to solidify the defense and preserve the result.

At full-time, the Pride of Lagos celebrated their first away win of the campaign, a result that lifts them to third on the NPFL table with 21 points — three points clear of Warri Wolves, who remain on 18. Nasarawa United and Abia Warriors occupy the top two spots with 23 and 22 points, respectively, after Matchday 12.
