Matchday 10 of the 2026 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership delivered one of the most dramatic weeks of the season so far. In a round defined by surprises and fearless performances from teams considered outsiders, several established sides were left stunned across different venues.
From Ahudiyannem Queens shocking Remo Stars Ladies on their home ground to Confluence Queens stealing victory away at Abia Angels, the week proved that the NWFL Premiership remains one of the most unpredictable competitions in Nigerian football.
The biggest headline, however, came from Benin City, where Edo Queens dismantled defending champions Bayelsa Queens in a ruthless first-half performance at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Meanwhile in Ibadan, Pacesetters Queens finally celebrated their first win of the campaign after weeks of frustration.
Across nine fixtures, fans witnessed 21 goals, multiple surprises, and significant movement in the race for the Super Six and the battle to avoid relegation.
Pacesetters Queens Finally Break Their Duck
Pacesetters Queens recorded their first victory of the 2026 NWFL Premiership season with a determined 2-0 win against Adamawa Queens at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
After a tense first half with both sides unable to find the breakthrough, Hikmat Adewale opened the scoring in the 51st minute to give the Oluyole Queens a deserved lead.
Kaase Esther sealed the victory in the 80th minute to hand Pacesetters Queens their long-awaited three points.
Despite the win, Pacesetters Queens remain at the bottom of Group A but now move to four points, offering fresh hope that their season can still be revived. Adamawa Queens, despite the defeat, remain fourth in the group standings.
Ekiti Queens End MKO Abiola Stadium: Stay in Style
Ekiti Queens concluded their run of games at the MKO Abiola Stadium with a convincing 2-0 victory against Heartland Queens.
Kaosarat Olamide Olanrewaju gave the hosts the lead in the 32nd minute before Amarachi Okoronkwo doubled the advantage immediately after the restart in the 46th minute.
The win means Ekiti Queens remain sixth in Group A with ten points, while Heartland Queens maintain fifth position.
Interestingly, Ekiti Queens will reflect positively on their stay at the venue, having won two of the three matches played there.
Ibom Angels Dominate Naija Ratels
Ibom Angels delivered a commanding performance to defeat Naija Ratels 3-1 in Uyo.
Happiness Agboye opened the scoring in the eighth minute and later added another goal in the 36th minute. Godsgift Afigbediator converted a penalty in the 28th minute to make it three goals before halftime.
In the 38th minute, Naija Ratels countered with a goal from Chekwube Oneje, but the damage was already significant.
Both teams maintained their positions on the league table, although the Naija Ratels are now staring dangerously at the possibility of relegation.
Edo Queens: Humble Defending Champions
The most anticipated fixture of the week quickly turned into a one-sided affair as Edo Queens demolished Bayelsa Queens 4-1 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Atume Doosuur struck early in the fourth minute before Chioma Moses doubled the advantage five minutes later.
Doosuur scored her second goal in the 13th minute, and Moses completed the remarkable first-half rout in the 30th minute, leaving the defending champions stunned.
Kindness Ifeanyi scored a consolation goal for Bayelsa Queens in the 75th minute, but the result had long been decided.
The performance from Edo Queens served as a strong reminder that their loss of the league title to Bayelsa Queens last season may only have been temporary. Edo Queens remain third on the Group A table with 21 points, level with the teams above them.
Confluence Queens Stun Abia Angels in Aba
One of the biggest surprises of the round came in Aba, where Confluence Queens defeated Abia Angels 2–1.
The visitors took the lead in the fifth minute after Onyedikachi Ekezie unfortunately turned the ball into her own net.
Abia Angels responded through Hannah Yusuf in the 54th minute to level the score.
However, Emmanuel Seember delivered a dramatic late winner deep into stoppage time in the 96th minute to secure an unlikely victory.
The result has added further intrigue to the Group B relegation fight while also serving as redemption after the controversial reverse fixture earlier in the season.
FC Robo Queens Maintain Group B Lead
FC Robo Queens continued their impressive campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory against Sunshine Queens.
Opeyemi Ajakaye scored the decisive goal in the eighth minute after a well-worked move involving Esther Onyenezide.
The victory takes FC Robo Queens to 24 points at the top of Group B, while Sunshine Queens remain fifth with 11 points.
Ahudiyannem Queens Produce Matchday Shock
Perhaps the most shocking result of the week occurred in Ikenne, where Ahudiyannem Queens defeated Remo Stars Ladies 2-1 inside the Remo Stars Stadium.
Uduakobong Monday opened the scoring for the visitors in the 34th minute before Daniella Fagbenro equalized for Remo Stars Ladies in stoppage time of the first half.
Mary Lucky restored Ahudiyannem Queens’ lead in the 64th minute, and they held on to secure a famous victory.
While the win did not significantly change their league position due to other results among struggling teams, it provides a major confidence boost in their fight against relegation.
Remo Stars Ladies remain firmly in the Super Six conversation but have slipped to third in Group B.
Nasarawa Amazons Hold Delta Queens
Delta Queens were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Nasarawa Amazons.
Anesthesia Terfa put Delta Queens ahead late in the first half, but Ayowunmi Omosuyi responded shortly after the restart in the 49th minute.
The draw lifts Nasarawa Amazons to second place in Group B with 19 points, while Delta Queens move to fifth.
Dannaz Ladies Earn Important Away Victory
Dannaz Ladies secured their first away win of the season with a 1-0 victory against Osun Babes.
Fausat Idris scored the decisive goal in the 75th minute.
The result is particularly significant considering the off-field uncertainty surrounding the club following the sudden departure of their coach, which has raised concerns about team morale and performance stability.
Dannaz Ladies now climb to the seventh position with ten points, while Osun Babes drop to eighth.
