Matchday 3 of the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super 6 lived up to its promise of drama, goals, and title-shifting moments. The standout clash saw Bayelsa Queens bring a fiery end to Remo Stars Ladies’ dream debut in the tournament, while Edo Queens and Nasarawa Amazons revived their championship aspirations.

Bayelsa Queens Deliver Statement Victory Over Remo Stars

Bayelsa Queens came into Matchday 3 with a clear goal — defeat table-toppers Remo Stars Ladies and take charge of the title race. The Prosperity Girls didn’t waste time making their intentions known. By the 25th minute, they were already two goals up.

Edo Queens Keep Title Hopes Alive With Naija Ratels Rout

Earlier in the day, Edo Queens, the defending champions, got their campaign back on track with a confident 2–0 win over Naija Ratels, who have yet to register a single point in the tournament.

Emem Essien was the star of the match, scoring a quick-fire brace in the 20th and 22nd minutes. Naija Ratels, despite a spirited effort, struggled to keep up with the pace and composure of the reigning champions. With three straight losses, the Ratels are now officially out of title contention.

Nasarawa Amazons Dent Rivers Angels’ Title Hopes

In the second match of the day, Nasarawa Amazons showed they still have plenty of fight left. A brilliant brace from Janet Akekoromowei (24’, 30’) proved to be the difference as they edged past Rivers Angels, one of the tournament’s former favourites.
