Exactly one week after the curtain fell on Showtime Bowl XII, Chairman Azeez Amida took a moment to reflect—and the numbers from the just-concluded season are nothing short of legendary.

2,486 passing attempts (an average of 75 per game) 1,014 flag pulls 391 missed targets 349 drops showcasing the grit of receivers 312 total touchdowns 233 deflections 121 interceptions—with 9 ending in pick-sixes 66 plays ending in penalties or out of bounds “These are more than just numbers,” said Amida. “They’re stories of trust, trial, and triumph.”

The Showtime Bowl, which capped off a remarkable season, wasn’t just about lifting a trophy. It was a celebration of every early morning drill, every late-night strategy session, every shout from the stands, and every dream etched on the turf.

According to Amida, these stats represent a deeper commitment:

“This is why Showtime is forever committed to delivering excellence on and off the field. We’ll keep raising the bar so our athletes can perform their best,” he said.

With fans across 40+ countries, a halftime performance from Sean Tizzle, and a ₦10 million prize purse that marked it as Nigeria’s richest sports final, Season XII was more than a game—it was a cultural moment.
