In a unique twist to grassroots football, the day kicked off with popular comedian and entertainer Akpororo leading his team, Roro House FC, not just as the team’s president but also as the captain. The first match of the day saw Roro House face off against a determined High Klass FA in what became a tightly contested affair.
Despite their best efforts, the match ended goalless after regulation time. However, two yellow cards were shown to Roro House players—Wasiu Lawal (16’) and Sinclair O (55’)—for rough play. In the penalty shootout that followed, High Klass FA emerged victorious with a 3-2 win.

In a dramatic moment, Akpororo stepped up to take the final kick with hopes of equalizing. Opting for a flashy attempt, he unfortunately missed, drawing gasps from the crowd and sealing the fate of his team.
Vido 99 FC Dominate Elegant FC with Five-Star Performance
The second game was goals galore encounter between Vido 99 FC and Elegant FC, and it didn’t take long for the fireworks to begin.
Madu Obinna opened the scoring in the 8th minute for Vido 99 and would go on to net another in the 30th. Saka Yusuf (14’), Bakare Akinsola (27’), and Justice Agor completed the rout as Vido 99 FC cruised to a dominant 5-1 victory.
Elegant FC’s only goal came from Nojeem Toheeb in the 9th minute, who was also booked during the match. John Temijupelo of Vido 99 was cautioned in the 14th minute.

Island Rivals Clash: Wasola FC Outgun Indomitable FC
Game three saw two island sides, Wasola FC and Indomitable FC, go head-to-head in a fiery contest filled with end-to-end action. Wasola FC claimed a narrow but deserved 3-2 win thanks to goals from Ismail Eletu (17’), Ramon Ojo (22’), and Kolawole Quadri (37’).
Indomitable FC’s Isiagu Tochukwu nearly turned the tide single-handedly with a brace in the 21st and 47th minutes, but it was not enough to stop Wasola from snatching the win. Abubakar (49’) and Dotun (58’) picked up yellow cards for Wasola.

Prince Kazeem Eletu FC Cruise Past Royal Asterisk
The final fixture of the day featured a strong Prince Kazeem Eletu FC side asserting their dominance over Royal Asterisk, finishing the match with a convincing 3-0 scoreline.
Goals came from Numan (20’), Tobiloba (37’), and Samuel (41’) to seal the win, while both teams were shown multiple yellow cards in what turned into a rough battle. Royal Asterisk’s Maliq (11’) and Samuel (45’) were booked, while Prince Kazeem Eletu FC saw cautions for Christopher (6’), Obi (27’), and Bright (30’).
