Lagos Supremacy Cup Produces 26 Rising Stars Set for European and Brazilian Trials

After four days of intense football in Lagos, twenty six exceptional young players have been selected for trials across Europe, Azerbaijan and Brazil.

The 2025 Lagos Supremacy Cup has once again delivered on its promise of spotlighting exceptional grassroots talent, as the chairman of the Lagos State Football Association and convener of the tournament, Hajji Liameed Gafar, announced the list of twenty-six young players chosen for international trials.

This year’s edition showcased four days of uninterrupted football intensity, youthful hunger and impressive tactical quality. Fourteen matches were played at top tempo, and fifty goals were scored, reflecting the tournament’s growing reputation as the most competitive youth scouting platform in Nigeria.

At the conclusion of the event, twenty-six outstanding players earned invitations for professional trials in six European countries as well as Azerbaijan and Brazil. These selections represent some of the brightest prospects emerging from Lagos-, Ogun- and Oyo-based academies and grassroots clubs, many of whom have been monitored by scouts throughout the competition.
